Abstract
Aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) is the mostly used matrix material in the metal matrix composites because of its low melting temperature and low density, light weight material so that matrix material is used in the various applications. These materials are fabricated by liquid-infiltration techniques, such as high pressure infiltration casting, squeeze casting, vacuum infiltration casting, compo casting, and pressure less metal infiltration. Other methods of fabrication include powder metallurgical techniques, plasma spraying of matrix material over properly laid fibers, physical-vapor deposition, hot pressing, and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis or reactive synthesis. This paper presents the overview of the effect of stir casting techniques and compositional behavior of different AMCs is also highlighted in this work.
Keywords- stir casting, composition, behaviors.
