Abstract
Estimation of the population mean is the persistent issue in sampling practices and many efforts have been made by various statisticians to improve the precision of the estimates by using the auxiliary information. In this paper we proposed a class of efficient estimators for estimating the population mean in SRSWOR by using the auxiliary information of coefficient of skewness and population deciles of the auxiliary variable. The properties associated with the proposed estimators are analyzed through MSE and bias. We also provide an empirical study for illustration and verification.
